Tatarstan’s external trade in January-September increases 61.6 percent

Tatarstan’s external trade in January-September 2008 increased 61.6 percent versus the same period in 2008, totalling $17,966 million. 88.3 percent in the foreign trade is exports, while 11.7 is imports. The surplus was $13,770.8 million.According to Tattransstat, commodity exports were $15,868.4 million, which was 60.9 percent of the total export sales. Oil sales account for 66.8 percent of the total export revenue. The Tatarstan-based companies in the 9 months of 2008 supplied 14,490.8 thousand tonnes of oil to the global market, worth $10.6 billion.
Its major part, 89.3 percent, was exported to the far-abroad countries. Oil supplies there in volume terms increased 29.5 percent, while the cost rose 2.2-fold.
Over the 9 months of 2008, oil companies in Tatarstan recovered 24.384 million tonnes of oil, or 101.4 percent versus the same period last year. The Tatneft share was 19.522 million tonnes.
