State Council deputies will solicit for bestowing Shaimiev with highest republican award

(Kazan, February 4, Tatar-inform, Alia Sabirova). Tatarstan State Council deputies will solicit for bestowing Mintimer Shaimiev with the highest award of the republic – “Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan”. The State Council Chairman Farid Moukhametshin informed about it at the 8th session of the republican parliament on February 4.

Moreover, the first President of Tatarstan will have his own seat in the State Council assembly hall. He will be invited to all sessions.

“I believe the republic will continue living in Shaimiev’s epoch for a long time from now. The last 10 years of the 20th century and the first years of the 21st century are connected with work of the outstanding leader,” the State Council Chairman Farid Moukhametshin said.

Farid Moukhametshin drew particular attention to such merits of Mintimer Shaimiev as establishing contacts with the federal centre, and also all the programmes realized under his direction – the programmes of tumbledown liquidation, gasification, social mortgage, etc.

On behalf of all the deputies, the State Council Chairman thanked Mintimer Shaimiev for fruitful work for the good of the Republic of Tatarstan.
