(Kazan, February 8, Tatar-inform). Deposits by private citizens in Russian banks, not counting Sberbank of Russia (RTS: SBER), increased 1.6% in January, the director of the Central Bank of Russia's banking regulation and oversight department, Alexei Simanovsky, told reporters. This is a preliminary figure, and aside from Sberbank does not factor in the deposits taken by some lending organizations, but those would not affect the overall figure much anyway, Simanovsky said, reports Interfax.
