Tatarstan substantially reduces cost of connection to electrical grids
9 February 2010, 15:33
(Kazan, February 9, Tatar-inform, Mikhail Mironov). The rates of technological connection to electrical grids in Tatarstan have been reduced in average 30 percent. JSC Grid Company has for the first time in 3 years changed the connection rates, decreasing them. The Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers Committee for Tariffs chairperson Marina Fairushina has today spoken about the causes and details of the move. The rates of technological connection to electrical grids in Tatarstan were set in November 2006. Since then, the rates were not changed until February 1, 2010, when, to support small and medium businesses, the committee approved new rates of technological connection to and standardised tariffs for calculating payment for technological connection to JSC Grid Company’s electrical grids. The rates have averagely been reduced 30 percent but some of them, including for connection of 15 to 30 kW, most in demand by small businesses, have been halved.
According to Marina Fairushina, entrepreneurs can now use an alternative tariff to pay for connection, the so-called standardised rate. In this case, consumers pay at set rates for the development of a utilities infrastructure required for particular connection.
Small and medium businesses connecting facilities of 15 of 30 kW can pay for connection in interest-free instalments for 3 years, the down payment being as little as 5 percent.
Besides, Fairushina said, Tatarstan has low-cost rates for connecting facilities of up to 15 kW that can be connected for 550 roubles.
Low connection rates are valid in some “green” zones in Tatarstan, where there is an excess of electrical capacity. Low rates are offered to small and medium businesses in the technology parks of Tatarstan as well.
