16 February 2010, 12:21

(Kazan, February 16, Tatar-inform). The State Duma will at a plenary session hear a report from the Russian Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik, said the lower house’s speaker Boris Gryzlov after the Duma Council meeting. ]

According to him, the questions prepared by the MPs mostly relate to food security and support of the domestic agricultural producers.

“Unfortunately, we can state the share of imports on the agricultural food market is big. We undoubtedly need to solve issues related to increasing the efficiency of animal production, as well as those pertaining to poultry production. I think in this area, that is poultry breeding, Russia can do with its own capacity and possibilities. Importing chicken meat for Russia is disgraceful. I think our agricultural producers need to understand it, while the Agriculture Ministry should to provide all conditions for the domestic manufacturer,” Gryzlov noted, reports RBC.
