Tatarstan farmers to take part in SIA-2010 show in Paris

(Kazan, February 19, Tatar-inform). The Russian delegation will attend the SIA 2010 agricultural show in Paris. Agricultural producers from 6 Russian provinces will this year take part in the exhibition, including from Tatarstan, said the ministry’s press service.

On February 27 to March 7, the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre is for the 47th time to host one of Europe’s largest agricultural events, Salon International de L’Agriculture 2010.

Our country’s official delegation is to be led by the Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik. The delegation includes representatives from the Federation Council, State Duma, business community, and heads of regions.

On February 27, President of France Nicolas Sarkozy will launch the show. The Russian Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik will represent Russia at the opening. Russian companies have for the past 4 years displayed their products in a single national presentation area.

This year, agricultural producers from 6 provinces will take part in the show: the Tambov, Ulianov, Vologda, Kostroma regions, as well as from Tatarstan and the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district. The Russian display area is to be bigger than 300 square metres. The domestic agrarians will not only demonstrate a wide range of produce but will present investment offers to foreign partners.

The show includes an extensive business programme. On February 27, the regional forum called Prospects and Trends in Russia-France Cooperation will take place, to be attended by the Russia and France agriculture ministers and the two state’s business representatives. On the same day, the Russia-France Agroindustrial Committee will hold a meeting, bilateral meetings between the Russian Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik, French Agriculture and Fisheries Minister B. Le Mer, as well as a meeting with the International Federation of Agricultural Producers secretary general will take place.
