10th anniversary of Kazan Centre for cultural relations between Tatarstan and India

(Kazan, March 1, Tatar-inform). Celebrations dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Centre for developing cultural relations between Tatarstan and India was held in Kazan on February 27, Tatarstan Ministry of Culture press-service informs.

The final stage of the Republican Festival of Folk Art “Shringara” was organized with participation of about 100 performers. Teachers of Dzhavakharlala Neru Cultural Centre under the Republic of India Embassy in Moscow were among the jury.

A selling exhibition of souvenirs, textile, spices and Ayurvedic medicine from India opened at the cultural centre of Tatarstan Internal Affairs Ministry on February 27. The guests had a chance to participate in the quiz “What do you know about tea?”.

A concert with participation of Dzhavakharlala Neru Cultural Centre artists and the Classic Indian Dancing School “Kalangasita” students began in the evening. A gala-concert of the Republican Folk Art Festival “Shringara” winners took place in the evening.

The event was held with support of the Republic of Tatarstan Ministry of Culture and Tatarstan Nations Assembly.
