Medvedev and Sarkozy open “Holy Rus” exhibition at Louvre

(Kazan, March 3, Tatar-inform). Presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Nicolas Sarkozy opened “The Holy Rus” exhibition at the Paris Louvre on Tuesday to mark the beginning of the Year of Russia in France and the Year of France in Russia.“The Holy Rus” exhibition is a very important event in the Russian Year in France schedule,” Medvedev wrote in the Louvre guest book, Itar-Tass informs.
The exhibition covers over 1000 years of the Russian history and involves largest Russian museums, including them the Kremlin, the State History Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery and museums of Vladimir, Suzdal and Novgorod. On the whole, 438 unique exhibits from 17 Russian museums, four libraries and one archive are on display.
“The opening of the Russian Year in France and the French Year in Russia will be the landmark event and an important contribution to the strategic partnership between France and Russia,” presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko is quoted as saying.
