Rubin-Wolfsburg 1/8 final – draw game
12 March 2010, 10:00
(Kazan, March 12, Tatar-inform). Kazan’s FC Rubin will face a difficult task in Germany next week after it played a draw game with the score 1:1 in home match of UEFA Europa League 1/8 final versus Wolfsburg.Strategically the draw game result is not too bad, but Rubin missed a goal on the home field.
Christian Noboa's header gave Rubin the initial edge, but Zvjezdan Misimovic scored an equalizer in the second half.
“It was a difficult match. The slippery pitch did not allow to use our potential in full,” Rubin’s goalkeeper Sergei Ryzhikov told Itar-Tass after the game.
Rubin’s Captain Sergei Semak hopes to beat Wolfsburg in Germany, but admitted it would be a difficult task. “Wolfsburg has a powerful charge plus German discipline,” he is quoted as saying.
